best assignment yet

I am in love with my homework right now. We are editing live interview footage of great deisngers. I've been assigned Ivan Chermayeff, one of my personal favorites. The interview is rich, full of personality. It's as if I am a fly on the wall, watching him work. The editing is harder - he is all over the place and rarely ends a sentence, yikes. The younger guy is Ivan's "glue stick boy", I wish he wore a cape and tights. Ivan works in collage - glue stick boy stands by to glue up pieces Ivan hands him. Not a bad idea, really. Who wants to get glue on their fingers? It always smudges the page.

incredible - maybe a new project for the Gata Gorda? This looks like an outside idea to me.

Happy Spring!

life is funny

(via ignant / via noquedanblogs)

for the non-computer people... the chart is saying that the higher your rank, the less you know about design software. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. Will justice never be served? What's even funnier: in ten years there will be new computer programs that only the interns understand.

irritation

my first negative post. its my blog and i can rant if i want to... i am SO SICK of false advertising, of the pretty pictures on gas and car commercials, of how blissed out food ads are, of how insurance companies swear they care about their customers, credit cards claim to afford us "priceless" experiences, "customer services" are really just bullshit scripts smothered with red tape and fine print. we all need, seek, buy and consume "products", is there a product we can believe in? really? oh, and have i mentioned the depth of my disgust in group projects for school? Lays, happiness is simple, thanks, but it has nothing to do with potato chips.
