monday brings a new set of goals. new lists of things to do, people to call, bills to pay. this week i am going to try to sit back, relax, and "enjoy the journey". i'll try to remember that sometimes even handwashing clothes can reveal something interesting.

NYC chairs...


one day, i will be done with school, and one day i will have a lovely house, full of lovely things, like these lovely, lovely chairs that i saw on the streets in NYC. oh, how i would have loved to carry those chairs home with me!!!

daily doodles



i am working hard to master adobe CS3 (photoshop, illustrator and indesign). lately, i've been try to create at least one doodle or sketch a day just to practice new things. these two doodles are inspired by one of my favorite blogs. it's tough to work with a straight edge down the middle of a piece.

mechanical daydream


the society for arts in healthcare is interested in using this image on the cover of their journal. this painting was rejected from many shows, but i always liked it's mechanical mousetrapishness. it sold about two years ago. whether they use it or not, it is refreshing to have some positive feedback...

heart shaped doodles


still feeling the valentine's day effect - here is a detail from a very large piece I worked on last year. its full of these organic leaf-like shapes, that also resemble hearts. heart shapes show up in my doodles often. enjoy!

roses from ecuador


happy valentines day! this bunch of roses hangs in my bathroom. my mom hand carried them to me from her stay in ecuador years ago, and i've been able to keep them intact even since.

wicked wednesday


battered and bruised by life's little jokes, i'm inspired to create a blogspot that can warm us up a little when we need it. I promise to keep it short and sweet, no longwinded ramblings here. i'll fill this space up with words and images that remind us that we are hangin' tough, regardless of rapidly greying hair, endless trips to the mechanic, and february's cold lack of charm. here is a hot pink second in Chinatown NYC last weekend, happy new year, amigas......
