location, location, location!

I'm on the hunt for one of these... in Virginia...

dirt poster

Designed by Roland Reiner Tiangco, Dirt Poster requires your participation to complete it. The back side of each poster is covered with a layer of ink, which you need to “paint” onto the front side the poster, to reveal the message that has been spot-varnished onto the paper. Awesome! The poster is limited edition and can be bought for $80.

come darkness

"Come Darkness is an homage to Winter light and a chance to welcome in the changing season. Highlighting the work of 26 artists from all over the globe I wanted to create an installation/altar where one might come, stand and ponder for a short while. What I have enjoyed the most in this installation is to see the ease at which the gradations of tone, color and subject matter all seem to flow one piece to the next."

memories

semantics. signs. icons. index. graphic design mumbo jumbo aside... this image of the cheeseburger (and anyone can tell it is THE 69 cent McD's variety) is knocking me out. I can taste it, smell it, feel it in my mouth. It brings me memories of good times past, hopes for the future, warm fuzzies all over. Long story short - I'm lovin it. Surprised?

flower girls

I am buried in schoolwork, nervous about how & when i'll get it all done and how it will turn out. yuk. makes wish i had gone into flower arranging or something like that. as a kid, it was on the list of "things to be when I grow up" so was hairdresser.

Another incredible artist from NY (although I would have pegged this one for CA). Check out his site here, and a little interview with him here.

i'm crazy for this whole ad (for shoes, by the way), from the selby, where I can spend hours and hours looking through pictures of other people homes.

summer projects

this summer I've tried to spruce up my apt on a dime (literally). I've figured how to deep clean my pillows, I've taken the rugs out to scrub them in the back yard, and yesterday I FINALY painted my little dining room. Seafoam blue up top, cream on the bottom. Next up... those damn sofa cushions!

(another) cake for the cat sitters

when I'm out of town, my neighbor Helen feeds Ajax and Mia. I bake her a cake in return, she likes chocolate, this time with roasted nuts on top.

to be a graphic designer with so much talent already out there, is intimidating. I love these packaging ideas from the dieline.
