a less than brilliant plan
As it is my semester break and I have FIVE WEEKS off, I decided to pick up a little side job, temporarily, to make some extra cash. Today I work my last shift at Anthropologie, my favorite store. I have always LOVED this place, just wandering through for hours looking at all the lovely things. UUGGHH. Not the same as working retail over the Christmas holiday... which has turned in to a complete NIGHTMARE. Lesson learned. NOT. A. RETAIL. GIRL.

running the Richmond 1/2 marathon
my mom and I ran the RIchmond 1/2 marathon a few weeks ago... here are some good pics from that day. (I ran with my camera - it was much easier than I had anticipated.) There are the cheerleaders... anyone that has run a big race will remember how AWESOME it is to have cheerleaders out there. They rock, they give off TONS of energy, I love them. Then there was the couple that ran the entire race holding hands! So intense. I think she had breast cancer, and I could barely look at them without tearing up. Thats some serious PDA.

crinoline flowers
I am really excited about these photos by Daryl Banks, how cool, he made flowers out of skirts and legs.

virginia house
there is an 17th century mansion, the virginia house, about a half mile from my house. it has an exquisite english garden out back, full of flowers whose seeds & vines are hundreds of years old, fountains, frogs, deer, groundhogs, I've even seen a bald eagle circling over head. i've truly fallen in love with this magical place, just wanted to share in photos.

terrain
i made it up to Philly to see the celebrated Terrain store (by Urban Outfitters/Anthropologie). while it was unique and beautiful, i was not entirely blown away by my experience! i felt it was smaller than advertised. they must have included the parking lot in the acreage. any-who, i am a more complete person having been there - it is almost entirely outside, pretty unusual for any retail space.
